MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the standard that lets an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or Claude operate an outside tool directly. The MCP connection is part of the free plan, so the assistant you already use can queue posts in your Studio account.

Media storage stops at 2 GB
The free plan stores up to 2 GB of uploaded media, the one hard cap on the plan. If you need more, contact us.
AI and the brief are paid
AI writing, image generation, video generation and the agent are paid. So is the brief, the set of documents that teaches the agent your business, voice and boundaries. Both belong to Apex, the managed content agent from Voholabs.
Support is limited
Studio is community hosted, so support and resources are limited. If something is broken, tell us and we will get to it at our own pace, or fix it yourself in the open source repository.
Sign-up asks for something
You sign in with Google, or with a work email if you prefer an email and password. Studio then asks five short questions: your name, website, role, use case and where you found us.

Who Studio suits
Studio suits an operator who posts to more channels, or more often, than a capped free plan allows. It also suits a team that wants colleagues in the same workspace, and anyone who wants an AI assistant or their own code to do the queuing through MCP or the API.
Who should use something else
Meta Business Suite is the better choice if you only post to Facebook, Instagram and Threads. It is free, comes from Meta itself, and schedules posts, stories and reels.
A solo operator with up to three channels is well served by Buffer’s free plan, which covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel and refills the queue as posts go out.
If you want the scheduler to write the posts for you, the free plan has no AI. That work belongs to Apex.

Is Voholabs Studio really free?
- Yes. The free plan has unlimited channels, unlimited scheduled posts, a calendar, team members, 30 webhooks, a public API and an MCP connection. There is no trial period, and sign-up does not ask for a card.
What is the catch?
- Media storage is limited to 2 GB, and if you need more you can contact us. Studio is community hosted, so support and resources are limited. If something is broken, the repository is open source and you are welcome to fix it, or tell us and we will get to it at our own pace.
How does Voholabs make money if the scheduler is free?
- Voholabs makes money from Apex, its managed content agent. Apex is where the paid features live: AI writing, image and video generation, the agent, and the brief that teaches the agent your business, voice and boundaries. You do not need Apex to use the free scheduler.
Is there a limit on posts or channels?
- No. The free plan has no limit on connected channels and no limit on scheduled posts. The one hard cap is 2 GB of media storage.
